How many times you been banned from WoW forums and why?

me..

3 times.. 1 of which was for actually speaking about real life situation and it was too "against TOS".. thats the only time i actually deserved it.

now in cata.. 2 times

last 1 was for "trolling" when all i said "this sux.. blizz please fix it" > 72 hr ban

now i dont even wanna post there. cuz if i do.. i will get banned for sure...

blizz is really abusing power and banning people for nothing.. it took me 3 months to get 3rd ban lifted..|||none|||Ah, another rebel.

What's the matter? Can't respect rules?

Let me guess - you're 17, and think that you're a special snowflake and believe that what you have to say is important, even if it breaks the rules .. right?

Blizzard aren't abusing power - it's thier forums and they can ban you for anything they want.

Respect the rules and you won't get banned. Now, is that too difficult for you to understand, or do I need to write it in one-syllable words for you?|||I don't go to WoW forums. No point; they're too crowded so your post doesn't get attention. Too many trolls. And posting rules that are too restrictive.|||Wait...they're actually enforcing the rules on that forum these days? Or are you one of the few who's posts were actually checked by a moderator?

At any rate, we get a lot of "just left the officials for whatever reason" -people here. So just a reminder that even though this is the unofficial board, we have rules here too.

One pretty popular way for people to get hammered here is to spill the beans about some perfectly justified action blizzard has taken against you and expect sympathy, like the "unofficial forums" in the title meant that we were some underground community who doesn't play by the rules.|||meh i find that wasting time on forums cuts into my game time|||Some people would think that you'd learn better by the 3th time.|||Their house, their rules. You don't abuse power when you kick someone out of your own home for calling you a schmuck. Next time you are going to be talking about freedom of speech. The TOS is not the constitution, amendments have nothing to do with it.

Point is, Blizzard does take constructive criticism in consideration, if it's constructive and if it's a real community concern, rather than one disgruntled customer. But constructive criticism is not "this sux.. blizz please fix it". Certainly when you have two prior suspensions (yes, they do log that) the community representative's patience must have been quite thin, and rightfully so.|||Quote:

Uh... yeah.

You obviously broke some rule because there's no such thing as being banned for nothing. You agreed to Blizzard's forum rules when you went there to post just as you agreed to our forum rules when you created your account here.

Not reading them for any reason or saying "What rules?" neigther exempts you from them or excuses you from those rules.|||Never. I usually manage to stay un-banned on forums by staying on topic and not trying to sound "cool" :)

I guess I get the frustration though. Blizzard probably has ALOT of crap to deal with from people. Makes them ready to pull out the ban-hammer to cut out potential stress?
