do you think WoW could be an influence for reinforcing negative stereotypes in games?

Do certain elements in WoW influence negative perceptions of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation through its presentation of characters, appearances etc.?

What do you think about this?|||you've obviously thought about this, so why not start the ball rolling with some examples?|||Quote:

We live at a time when issues regarding sex and race have become sick obsessions among the politically correct. I see that Blizzard has gone to a lot of trouble to give equal opportunities and powers to all races and genders. A female gnome can be as powerful and successful as a male tauren in every aspect of the game. One couldn't be any fairer without erasing entirely any distinction between races, and these fanciful distinctions are what make the game fun to play. As far as I can see there is absolutely no difference in WoW between male and female characters except in appearance. As to religion, I suppose there are vaguely Christian remnants in architecture (I'm thinking of Stormwind Cathedral) but even with Medieval themes all traces of religious belief have been erased. WoW is entirely Pagan with mostly made-up mythologies cribbed from Tolkien and other pop culture inventions. All in all, Blizzard has been careful not to offend and I have never heard of any real gnomes or elves complaining of the way they're represented in WoW.
