Question regarding the Barrens...

So I'm currently playing a LvL 47 DPS/RET Pally, and I'm still learning, I started playing right before Cataclysm hit, so anyways, I'm following a Mining Guide map thats supposed to be Post-Cataclysm, but I have my doubts cause its something aren't matching up with what I'm seeing first-hand, for one, i'm trying to get into the Wailing Caverns but it looks like its been blocked off our something, so is that true, or am I just dumb and not finding the correct entrance. Also this map isn't showing that huge chasm with the lava at the bottom, so thats another reason I'm thinking its wrong when it says its up-to-date with the changes done in Cataclysm. So i guess I have one more question, can someone point me in the right direction of a current map for mining routes ?

EDIT - another thing about that map of mining routes for the barrens, is the fact that the guide says the barrens is good for mining for skill lvl 65-125, cause there is supposed to be silver and tin there, and i've following the map as precisely as possible considering the route goes thru that lava chasm lol but all im finding is a **** ton of Copper Veins. pisses me off when people make guides that are ass backwards wrong !|||It seems pretty obvious that the map is out of date--the lava chasm is not only a major landmark but also separates the lower level zone "Northern Barrens" from the higher level zone "Southern Barrens."

There should be tin. But you may have better luck in Ashenvale as it is a higher level zone.|||Quote:

Yea i figured thats why i said that, but it pissed me off cause the map specifically said it was post-cataclysm, but anyways, i just actually got done going thru the Wetlands and Ashenvale, and i did find a lot of tin, but only 4 nodes of Silver, and i found those four in the wetlands, none in ashenvale, but i just read that Silver tends to pop up where Tin used to be, so its good to go back to where you harvested Tin and see if silver has replaced it. Is this true. I know that it doesn't always happen that way since Silver is pretty rare, but I heard its the best bet|||Silver is a rare spawn off tin nodes. In other words once you mine out the node it is most likely to respawn as tin but has a small chance to come back as silver. All of the green text ores are like this with their companion--gold is a rare spawn off iron for example.
